Fōkasu #43: Wojciech Kilar

We are going back to Poland. And to America as well.

If there's a contest somewhere for the best theme from a movie musical, there's a good chance that the hero of this episode is among the finalists.

His compositions, particularly those created for Francis Ford Coppola's "Dracula", are often cited as some of the most important works of film music.

When he began his career, there was no indication that his music would be heard in Hollywood productions. Kilar was perceived as an avant-garde composer. Gifted with exceptional talent, but not necessarily the kind that has to prove itself in films.
